Der Eiserne Thron in der Fernsehserie Game of Thrones (HBO) prägt das Bild dieses markanten Möbelstücks für Millionen. Der Schöpfer der Buchvorlage hat allerdings eigene abweichende Vorstellungen. Gemeinsam Künstler Marc Simonetti (deviantART) gibt es jetzt eine „offizielle“ visuelle Vision des Herrschaftssymbols der Sieben Königslande.

It’s a throne made by blacksmiths hammering together half-melted, broken, twisted swords, wrenched from the hands of dead men or yielded up by defeated foes… a symbol of conquest… it has the steps I describe, and the height. From on top, the king dominates the throne room. And there are thousands of swords in it, not just a few.“

Bereits zuvor nahm sich der Künstler dem Eisernen Thron an. Das ist dann sozusagen also der nicht ganz so reale Hocker für den König, dennoch ansehnlich, oder?

Beide Darstellungen überzeugen mich auf ihre Weise. Übrigens ist der Künstler sehr nett und auch der Maler des Yggdrasil RPG-Covers.
